Healthcare Hospitality Network, Inc. (HHN) is a nationwide professional member association with a mission to support homes that help and heal to be more effective in their service to patients and families. The HHN community includes House members and Supporting Partner members. Our House members provide lodging and support services to patients and their caregivers while they are receiving medical treatment away from their home communities. Our Supporting Partners are members that support the Healthcare Hospitality Houses in their services to their guests.
HHN is the only professional membership association in North America with the specific mission to provide training, networking, and advocacy specifically for healthcare hospitality houses. Founded in the early 1980s and incorporated in 1986, HHN proudly serves over 100 member houses ranging from small houses to houses with over 100 guest rooms. Supporting Partners include Trivers Associates, Non-Profit Software, and Palmetto Linen.
HHN advances Healthcare Hospitality Housing on several fronts:
Professional Networking:
Healthcare Hospitality Houses serve a very unique mission in the healthcare communities that they serve. HHN provides a network for Healthcare Hospitality House staff and volunteers to connect with other professionals across the country serving similar missions and share best practices and support.
Training:
Providing virtual and in-person training opportunities through our:
- Monthly Ask the Expert webinar series
- Monthly Virtual Round Table discussions
- Learning Management System with over 1600 courses
- Annual Conference held in-person or virtually
- New Online Forums allow members to connect and share best practices
Opportunity for Certification:
The Certified Hospitality House credential provides an opportunity for healthcare hospitality houses to distinguish their organization as one that is committed to maintaining high training standards and dedication to following best practices.
Advocacy: The existence of a healthcare hospitality house in a community should be seen as a necessity, rather than an amenity.
Elevating missions of Healthcare Hospitality Houses on a national level is a strategic initiative for our association on behalf of our members and the patients and caregivers that are in need of medical lodging across the country.
We will celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the National Healthcare Hospitality Week in 2022 and will use this week to shine a light on the work of our members and their impact on the healthcare communities in which they serve.
Start-up Assistance: Many of our members joined during their grassroots, startup phase and believe that their success was supported by their membership. The support of HHN and its members helps to guide organizations and communities looking to develop a healthcare hospitality house in their community through the early stages and beyond.
